A concert with 108 short sections as an homage to the great Indian spiritual traditions. The Hungarian György Kurtág is one of the most respected composers in contemporary Europe, and Krisztina Lanczkor-Kocsis will play his piece Scenes and series from the Signs, Games and Messages for solo flute. Afterwards she will present a collection of Hungarian folksongs (which were important source of inspiration for numerous Hungarian composers from Béla Bartók till Kurtág) on her instrument. Finally, she will play the Chaconne from the unsurpassed German baroque master, Johann Sebastian Bach.
Dr. Krisztina Lanczkor-Kocsis is the first flutist of Szeged Symphony Orchestra (Hungary), the winner of several international flute competitions. Her repertoire extends from baroque music through the great classical pieces of the Western musical tradition till contemporary composers.
