BIO

Bishal Biswakarma is an educator, a literary scholar, and a writer. Earlier, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Ghoom Jorebunglow College, Darjeeling, for more than seven years, where he was engaged in teaching, academic administration, and curriculum development of the students. He cleared his National Eligibility Test (NET) in the years 2017 and 2018. His academic interests lie at the intersection of literary and cultural studies, with particular emphasis Eastern Himalayas, comparative literature, postcolonial studies, and contemporary critical theory.
In addition, Bishal Biswakarma is an accomplished writer and a poet of the Nepali language. He is the author of the novel Darjeeling Versus Darjeeling, which critically re-examines and reclaims the identity, ethnicity and historical consciousness of the Darjeeling hills. In the year 2024 he had published an anthology of short stories, titled Zeta Sophiagray which was widely acclaimed by the renowned critics and writers for its innovative narrative strategies and contemporary themes. His contributions reflect a sustained commitment for bridging creative practice and critical scholarship, particularly in the context of marginal, regional, and emerging literary traditions of the Eastern Himalayas.
