Darjeeling Hills University participated in the regional workshop hosted by the Regional Coordinating Institute of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, NIT Durgapur, which is led by Dr. Shri Krishan Rai, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Professor Arvind Choubey, Director of NIT Durgapur, delivered the keynote address for the workshop. Highlighting the training sessions conducted by the institution for various cohorts in subjects such as artificial intelligence, he discussed the social development initiatives undertaken by the institution.
Shri K.E.N. Raghavan, a rural development activist and practitioner, was the main resource person and instructor for the workshop which focused on sustainable farming methods, sustainable family-unit development, and organic waste management.

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan PI Coordinators of institutions from various districts in West Bengal and Sikkim participated in the event, such as Kalimpong College represented by Dr. Sarad Gurung, Department of Political Science.
Darjeeling Hills University has been selected as a participating institute this cycle, and intends on coordinating with local stakeholders to build rural development solutions in partnership with the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.
